Beautiful People

April 19, 2020  •  2 Comments

It has been a week since our first ever, Easter Drive-In service.

Never, ever in my life would I have ever imagine having to attend church........EASTER service to start with.......in this regard.

This has been a life-altering situation for everyone.  Some, it has affected more than others.

The views/ quotes/ opinions I'm about to relay in this post do not, by any means, reflect anyone posted in this blog. The thoughts I write are just what I, personally, have to offer at this time.

For me.....it's kind of had a hint of excitement.......maybe because I don't mind change so much...but, then, I have to back up and say I'm not happy with the reason behind it and the fact that we haven't been able to get out of the car and really enjoy the full effect of it.

Maybe I've enjoyed it because I like the outdoors and ......maybe, I like it because, honestly the services have been a bit shorter??!!  LOL.....don't judge me now....I'm being honest.

However, I'd rather a move of God....seeing people moved, filled with the Holy Ghost....being able to pray with those who have a need, see their lives changed and my life change. If a move is what makes us get off of OUR schedule and change OUR time table.....I'm all for it!

This may not be your "profound" posting or "eye-opener" writing.....but, it's what I feel and it's what I will share.

For now, until this subsides, which I believe it will, we will have to continue to put our faith, trust in what we know, in what we've been taught, and in what we believe...that God is able, that He CAN still perform miracles and draw people if He has His way.

Right now, I believe our job is to simply flow with Him, watch Him get things in position and do what only He can do in the midst of all of this.

Last Sunday was the day I chose to get out of my car and walk around with my camera. I felt the need to document some of this.  I know we will be grateful in the future and be reminded of this time.....for many reasons.

So, if you will continue to bear with me and the commentary......I'd for one, will appreciate it.

We are a peculiar people.  We are meant to be set apart.  We are meant to have a different sound in our worship/music.   What makes the difference? The anointing. Without it....we are just, what the Bible calls a tinkling cymbal or sounding brass.

Through all of this I am constantly reminded of stories I've heard as a child about the tent revivals and brush-harbors days.  Where the preacher would preach under a tent on a wooden platform .....even when it rained, and those that couldn't fit under the tent....would gather around its borders, if weather permitted, or sit in their cars.  When it was dark, they would turn their headlights on to be able to see.   I know we live in a different day and time....but, this is.....right now..the beginning of what we've always wanted....revival...modern day style....if you will.

I have to say I feel there has been a deep shift in the spiritual atmosphere of all of this and the ministry in itself is taking a new turn in how the Word goes forth. The "sound" is beginning to be louder than ever before.

While our hearts are heavy and burdened to return to the "norm"....there is a certain beauty to all of this. That beauty is a deeper love and compassion for others to be reached and touched by God and His kingdom through this crisis.

This whole circumstance brings a different dynamic to what we do....as a church body.

What if we are getting "re-armored"?  Polished, if you will,  for something bigger than what we've ever had to handle?

What if this has been what we've been waiting for all of our lives? What if this is what we've preached about, prayed for, fasted for, desired of God to do.....and this is how He has chosen to get everyones attention or set things in motion? I mean...come on people..this is literally, out of our hands....and He has full control right now.

If anything, it will make our relationship with Him sweeter and more dearer as we come closer to the day we can regroup and somehow find "norm".

What if we aren't supposed to find "norm"?  (Asking for a friend......)  ha

For too long the world has adjusted their eyes to the darkness.  Now, the Light is beginning to shine forth and causing things to come to the foreground.

The "idea" of "family" has been irrelevant to a lot of people and now they are somewhat forced to focus on one another....hopefully to see what a blessing they have sitting beside them.

This has become an opportunity of "letting go"......

When you have something that doesn't have any attachments to you, you can let it go because it doesn't control you.

When you love something, you've acquired an emotional attachment to it. Thus, making it hard or almost seemingly impossible to let go of. It has acquired a certain amount if control over you.

Let's face it......we've all had to move a lot of things off of the table and focus on what's the REAL priority or need for a personal change in our lives.

I feel that this is a time for our passion and what we do for God to be an open door for growth.  A time to get the "weeds out of the garden".

Isa. 43:19 "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."

Matthew 21:16 "And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?"

Psalm 8;2 "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger."

We are under God's umbrella of protection.  He delights in our efforts to continue to spread the Word and keep our hearts and minds open to what He has in store for our future.

You never know who is watching or what kind of impression you are making on those around you....or following you on social media.

Other news.....you never know what kind of "secret information" is being shared between Grannas and Grand-babies.

Even the house-hold pets are excited to get out of the house and go to church!

Make your praise count!

Talk about wearing a new kind of armor!

God inhabits the praises of His people......where-ever that may be!

Count it all joy!

2 Timothy 4:2  "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."

Now is the time for favor....this is the season to stand and be counted.

Until next time....like the song says....."even when I don't see it.....He's working......even when I don't feel it......He's working".
