Hard Work Has It's Payday!

January 04, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

Today was an extra-ordinary day for me.

I have began painting again over the past 8 months or so.

I had not picked up a paint brush before then for about 8 years.  No joke.

Either life was in too much of a spin or I had no time, or the inspiration just wasn't there.

One day....I was digging through some stuff in our storage and I saw my paint brushes.

I pulled out the box.

I brought it home.

Deep in my coat closet, in our tiny apartment, lay a box filled with oils.....and some old tubes of acrylic paints.

I pulled out the box.

All of a sudden I felt an urge of creativity wanting to emerge.

We went to Hobby Lobby, bought a few canvases .....(sizes that would easily fit on a table easel)....when we got back home, I went to work painting.

I really had no idea what I was going to work on.......so, I started with a few abstract pieces to get the creative juices flowing and open up my mind.

Since then, I've done quite a bit of work.

Today, that hard work paid off for me.

I sold not just one, but FIVE pieces of art.

Somebody INVESTED in me!  Someone took a second glance at something I had painted and decided they needed it.

I've sold work before in a gallery......in a galaxy....far, far away.   But, it has been a VERY long time and a very long road to get me back to this point where life evolves on the canvas before me and I can place myself inside the world I create.

It's a place I can get lost and noooooobody can find me.  Ha.

These are the 5 pieces that sold today.

Above painting: "His Grace is Sufficient"

Below painting: "Good House"

Below painting: "Hope"

Below painting: " Church Time"

Below painting: " Sunday Sunrise"

(These are not professional photographs...they were taken with my phone. No special edit process.....)

Hard work does pay off....in time.

My big easel still sits in the storage unit.....I am for now at one with the table easels and we are doing .....ok.

But, I have a feeling it won't be long before I can be reunited with the larger scale canvases and we can paint happily ever after.

Happy trails to you!

Over and out.

Mrs. Rogers
