Low Key Day

January 05, 2019  •  Leave a Comment

Woke up this morning with a stuffy nose and a headache.

Ugh!

I’m not one to give in to little things like that easily.....or even if it was worse, I usually push through and work through it.

Like most folks, I literally despise being sick......or not feeling 100%.

I had started another painting yesterday, but, passed by it this morning on my way to my second cup of coffee and decided today was a “take a break” kind of day.

I needed fresh air and sunshine.

We ventured into town and hit a couple of stores on our list.

My first stop was World Market.

If you havn’t ever ventured into World Market, it’s an interesting, eclectic kind of store.

One of my finds was the book below.

”Bathroom Guest Book”

I almost bought it.

You say “really?”.   Yes.   Simply, because I like different things and I thought it would be something interesting to have in the bathroom.

But, as I thumbed through, my mind raced from one idea to another of what would most likely be written in this little book.

LOL!!!

Don’t ask and I won’t mention it. Mainly because I have some very imaginative and creative people in my life and trust me, they would seize the opportunity to make a trip to our bathroom.

Dewayne finally found me after he finished his scoping around in Best Buy.

We started looking at furniture.  Dewayne became aquainted with one of the chairs....almost a little too cozy.

Soon after sitting around on all the different pieces we found ourselves sitting on a couch talking about future ideas and goals.

We would venture from one area to another and pick up discussions on what was on our minds.

Sometimes, you have to get out and about , out of your normal routine and dream a little.

But, don’t just write it off as a dream. Dreams only come true if you set out to make them happen.

Time had drifted away from us as it often does on days like this and we realized we had not eaten lunch or breakfast.

We chose to go to Goode Company and eat the usual palette.....Mexican.

In the photo below, Dewaynes hair is NOT that gray!  LOL.

I didn’t realize it looked that way until I had posted it and I had used a filter on the photo.

We were asked if we were getting the “Senior Citizens” special because we were eating so early in the day ....

Well, we didn’t get the “Senior Citizens” special...but, we sure got some gooood vittles.

Below is the Tortilla Soup I ordered.....let me tell you, if you like heavy soup and a lot of shredded chicken, this is for you.  If you like spicy food, as I do...this is for you.  The flavor was really good and I literally couldn’t eat it all.

Right before our food arrived, this big beauty pulled right up to our window.  I had to take a pic. This car was huge and beautiful.

I’m usually not really impressed by big, fancy things like this....but, I was a bit in awe of it.  Just don’t care about paying that car note. LOL!

My need for creativity got the best of me .....so, I took an abstract photo with my phone and made a little inspiration quote.

I feel it’s important that Dewayne and I live a full life and a colorful one as each day unfolds.

It keeps us from getting in a rut mentally and spiritually.

We concluded our day at the local car wash....giving “Magpie” a bath.

”Magpie” is my newest ride.

I hope your day has brought sunshine to you...in more ways than one.

Happy trails to you.

Over and out.

Mrs. Rogers
