Picture this....
Temps around lower 30 degrees.
About 10 AM
Not a sound.
Not even a slight breeze.
All is still and quiet.
Sun is shining. No clouds in the sky to give the hint of rain or dreary weather.
A good morning to began a positive frame of mind and.......go hiking!
Schwabacher's Landing...the Reflection Pond
One could write a book about the conversations in this spot....if they had been sitting on the sidelines and eavesdropping.

I'd say we've been here twice...but, really better make that 4 times. We've been to the park twice in the past two years...but, we've come back to this place twice each time.
Not any agenda to keep up with. Just because we like it here.
This was the first time however, that the pond was as slick as glass. You could nearly get two photographs in one. Two for the price of one.
This time around...the crowd was.....none.
That was extra nice because we nearly had the area to ourselves. Just Dewayne and I.......and a squirrel....and maybe a few duckies in the water.
Ohhhh....ok. Maybe not THAT perfect. But, almost.
There were about 4 other folks that walked up, talked in low, mumbled voices, as if they were afraid to wake up someone, who took their shots on their cameras and then retreated back to where they came from.
The photo below is probably one of my favorites because of the shadow of the tree on the right...it's like an added depth or something......and then the light colored grass in the foreground frames and gives a balance to the left side.

The water was clear enough to be able to see the bottom in certain spots and it was like you could almost reach out and pick one of the pebbles out of the river bed.

I like the image below.....(perhaps it would look very nice in a black and white because of all the texture in it.)
Sorry, I got side-tracked there for a moment. Forgive my outwardly babble about how I may process something.......(sigh). (You were just privileged to know what goes on in my little world.)
My mind goes on allllllllll the time about this and that....and I get distracted.
Anyway.....I like the image because the grass towards mid-way in the pond creates a dividing line of sorts. On the other side of that grass is clear, crisp water and on this side are the shadows of the trees that stop at the grass line. Interesting.

Well, I'll leave for now. Hope you enjoyed your tour of Schwabacher's Landing and come back to read ( and see pics..because I like books better with good photos) ....more about ......well, more about whatever is on my mind or another eventful hike we had some place. Ha.
Happy trails to you.
Over and out.
